FAQ - Portraits
How Far In Advance Should I Book My Session?
Having a month or two to prepare for your day to ensure your date, prep your outfits, grab coffee with us for your strategy session where we plan your shoot is an ideal situation. Of course, as an ideal, it doesn’t always work out that way and we completely understand how last minute life can be sometimes. This year we have done sessions that we booked a week in advance.
Where Will It Be?
This is a question we will decide during your strategy session. It’s extremely important to us that your photoshoot location matches who you are. We will offer up suggestions for locations based on your personality and style, but you get the final say.
Can Our Pets Be A Part Of Our Photos?
Absolutely! Pets are family and can be a huge part of your life, we are happy to include them in your photoshoot.
What Time Of Day Is Best For A Portrait Session?
Since we shoot on location, it is best to schedule a time closer to sunrise or sunset for the most flattering lighting.
If It Rains, Do You Have A Studio To Shoot At?
Currently we shoot on location only. Any day with a 50% chance of rain will most likely be rescheduled to another date.
What Do We Need To Bring?
We will cover all of this in your strategy session, but you will want to bring any changes of clothing and props you want to include (items related to sports you play for example).
Will These Images Be Posted Online Or Any Social Networks?
Yes, unless specifically requested otherwise, we love to share your beautiful images online through instagram, facebook, and our website. Feel free to add us to that we can tag you!
How Do We Go About Securing Our Session?
Submit your application right here on the website, then I will send you (or your parent) an email to schedule your strategy session. The email will also include a link to select your session day/time, sign the contract, and pay your deposit. Once those things are completed, your session is booked!
How Long Have You Been Shooting Portrait Sessions?
I have been working with families, couples, and seniors for almost 17 years now.
How Many Photos Will I Receive?
This depends on the experience package you choose. You will receive anywhere from 25-70 photos, but if you'd like to purchase more you are absolutely welcome to for $25 per digital image. Prints and products can be ordered directly through your personal gallery as well.
FAQ - Portrait Parents
Why do you require a strategy session before the shoot?
Most senior photos feel stiff, because the photographer and senior are meeting for the first time when the camera is already out. My background in digital marketing and storytelling taught me that the best results come from a plan. This session allows me to connect with your student, map out locations that match their style, and ensure they feel like the Main Character rather than just another face in a yearbook.
What exactly are we paying for?
You aren't just paying for a person with a camera; you are paying for 16 years of technical expertise and a high-end, curated experience. My fee covers the in-depth strategy session, location scouting, the shoot itself, and hours of professional editing. I also being a strong level of reliability. I don't miss details, and I don't miss deadlines.
My child is shy. How do you handle that?
As an introvert myself, I specialise in making people feel comfortable behind the lens. The strategy session is designed specifically to break the ice in a low-pressure environment (over coffee). By the time we get to the shoot, I'm just a friend they've already hung out with.
When will we get the photos back?
I know the chapter of senior year moves fast. You will receive a "sneak peek" within 48 hours of our shoot, and the full, professionally edited gallery will be delivered via Pixieset within 2 weeks.
Do you only offer digital files and if so, where can I order prints from?
My packages focus on the production of high-resolution digital files, but don't worry! You can order products through my professional printer directly through your gallery. No bringing releases anywhere or having to find somewhere reputable to give you the quality prints you're looking for. You can print as many graduation announcements and keepsakes as you'd like, while also still having the files to share with family and friends on social media.
FAQ - Elopements
What is your photography style?
A lifestyle photographer by nature, I love to capture the moments in between, the genuine smiles & laughs, the shared glances, and the minute details. I like to give you an album of memories that aren't all posed & planned for. All specific desires will be discussed at your strategy session.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am currently based in Fargo, ND and yes, I love to travel! If you are interested in having me capture your story outside of the Fargo-Moorhead area, it will require a travel fee. But no worries, it is more than likely already built into your package price, because I work with an amazing travel agent to ensure the most budget friendly prices as I do not want this to be a barrier for you.
When will we get our photos?
Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within a maximum of 6 weeks. You can download all the photos from the gallery, share them with friends and family, choose your favorites, and order prints!
How many pictures will we receive?
For a 4 hours coverage wedding, you will receive between 200-300 fully edited images and for all day destination weddings, you will receive approximately 500 photos. I always choose quality rather than quantity and that's why I will choose the best and more significant photos to tell your story.
How many photographers do you work with?
Because I am dedicated to my style & focused on documenting your day, I do all of my sessions on my own.
Can you hold our date for us? What is your booking policy? What are your payment terms?
Your date is booked only with a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer, which is 50% of your total package cost. To be fair to all potential couples, I cannot hold your date or pencil you in. The final balance of your package is due 30 days before your wedding day. You may split up the payments monthly or just make one final payment - whichever works best for you!
